This project called for a reimagining of the apartment tower. The incorporation of large gardens on each level and the organisation of internal spaces such that they take full advantage of the garden space drives the configuration. The helicoid configuration of successive stacked apartments establishes triple height volumes above the gardens to maximise light penetration to the living areas and creates sufficient space for the planting of trees. In a volatile seismic region, a system of deep shear walls stabilizes the structure.
